About me, in my off time

Nice to meet you! I am Ronnie. In my off time, I am still active online. I am an internet lover. It helps with my job but in my off time, I am still active on social media, working on a website, watching youtube, doing some photoshopping or playing Guild Wars 2. I do go out! With my beautiful Bernese mountain dog Pharah. Her name is inspired by the Blizzard game, Overwatch. She is 5 years old and I love her to death! But in the number one position is my lovely girlfriend Jamie. With the 3 of us we love to go out to the local dunes to relax and enjoy the local nature.

About me, my working life…

I love my job as Recruitment Marketer but it took me a while to know this is my dream job. After I got my Bachelor of Business Administration in 2009, right during the financial crisis when jobs were scarce. I got myself a job at a call centre to improve my resume and get some of that much-wanted commercial work experience there.

From Recruitment…

It helped, after 8 months of selling tv packages I landed my first real job at one of the biggest job agencies in The Netherlands, my introduction to the world of recruitment. I learned to think like a candidate but always keep your client in mind. To sell an organization to a candidate with storytelling, but to always keep it authentic.

…to online marketing

After 5 years and 2 other big agencies, I got the opportunity to follow one of my big interests: Online Marketing. I am a real internet kid, being there since 56k. The company where I worked, was changing their branding and planned a big campaign to launch the brand. To make the branding a success they needed an Online Marketer to keep the brand alive and follow up the branded campaign with lead generation campaigns.

ME! A dream job to use the internet and social media to attract new visitors, and potential clients, to our website sharing great, authentic content. My old director gave me all the freedom to develop my skills and knowledge. I learned how to create a strong online proposition. To listen to the clients and use that valuable information to create strong client profiles. To write copy that triggers an audience to act, to create content that informs and inspires. I knew Online marketing is it for me!

The best of both worlds, Recruitment and Online Marketing make Recruitment Marketing. That is where we are right now and where I have been for 2 years now. The lessons I learned from my experience as a recruiter perfectly complement my experience as an online marketer.

I enjoy the diversity of Recruitment Marketing. Telling great stories in the awareness and consideration stage. Where storytelling and visually appealing content works to inspire. I call it the creative side of Recruitment Marketing, Employer Branding. And there is the analytics side or Job Marketing. Doing online campaigns has a great advantage that almost everything is measurable. All that data is very interesting and helps optimise campaigns, landing pages, and vacancy texts. Everything to improve the candidate journey, smoothen out any bumps in the online journey to ultimately increase the number and quality of applicants.

Recruitment Marketing is fun. From creating a strong foundation for your organization with a distinctive Employee Value Proposition to translating that proposition into targeted online marketing campaigns to attract applicants, and everything in between.
